Problem solved!

We have a train set in Waitī that comes out as a special treat only. It just so happens that Isaac loves trains and really wanted to play with it. No problem! He made his own!  What awesome creativity and problem solving Isaac!


This sparked a run of creativity from some of our other engineers!

The Little Red Hen

Week 8 Term 1
One of the books read this week was "The Little Red Hen". We found out that not many of us had made bread before so we decided to bake some of our own. This experience is rich in language as students used all their senses as part of the breadmaking. Some students didn't like the smell of the foamy yeast, some did! Others enjoyed kneading the dough and shaping a roll to put in the pan. Everyone enjoyed eating the fresh bread! Rawe! Well done everyone for trying new things!

Caring for the world around us....

March 19
Some of our best learning comes from our spontaneous experiences in the classroom. Harman returned to class with this monarch butterfly to share with everyone. It gave us an opportunity to talk about care of insects in our environment and life cycles.
