Nau mai haere mai ki Waiti 2019!

The summer has flown past! I hope you and your whānau have had a lovely break together! It is still so hot - we will be swimming every day. We will be teaching swimming skills to students as part of our Physical Education program. Please ensure your child brings their togs to school every day. Thank you!

Thank you to those who have organised stationary for your child already. It really helps settle students into our class routines quickly. Stationary can be put on your school account - please talk to Aroha in the office for help with this. Year 3 students will also be signed up for Mathletics this term. This supports the Maths program in Waitī and ensures the learning of basic facts.

Just a reminder that we promote healthy eating at Ōtaki School. Please no lollies or sugary drinks in lunch boxes. Sandwiches are absolutely the best thing to keep tamariki going throughout a long school day. Thanks to our school supporters, we have available muesli bars, nut mix and fruit, which is  available to all students (they don’t have to ask for it, it is in a basket in our room all the time) as well as milk daily. A sandwich is the best way to keep their energy levels up. Thank you for your support in this!

I am really looking to being back in the classroom. Getting to know the new students and working away with returning students. Please - if you have any concerns about your child do not hesitate to contact me. You will have received a text from me by now (if you haven’t please send a note along and let me know!) so you have my number should you need it. I am also available in person before and after school. I look forward to seeing you all soon!
